Another advantage is that they are very easy to cut and stick. Unlike thermocol, honeycomb boards are cheaper and easier to customize to any shape or size.
A honeycomb paper pallets is made of layers of paper with a honeycomb-shaped core in the middle. The core gives the board most of its strength and can stretch up to 15 times its original size.
The top and bottom paper layers are called outliners. These layers keep the honeycomb paper pallets in place and make the board stable and straight. To make the board, the layers are glued together and then heat-treated to form a strong sandwich structure.
